Integration Guide: Rudderstack to Iterable

This guide will walk you through the process of integrating Rudderstack with Iterable, allowing you to seamlessly send event data from Rudderstack to Iterable for further analysis and engagement with your users. Please follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Obtain API Keys

To begin the integration process, you will need to have access to both Rudderstack and Iterable accounts. Ensure that you have the necessary API keys for both platforms.

- Rudderstack API Key: This can be found in the Rudderstack dashboard under the "Sources" section. If you don't have an existing source, create one and obtain the API key.

- Iterable API Key: Log in to your Iterable account and navigate to the "Integrations" section. Generate an API key or use an existing one.

Step 2: Configure Iterable in Rudderstack

1. Log in to your Rudderstack dashboard.

2. Click on the "Destinations" tab and search for "Iterable" in the list of available destinations.

3. Click on "Configure" next to the Iterable destination.

4. Provide the required details:

  - API Key: Paste the Iterable API key obtained earlier.

  - Track All Events: Enable this option if you want to send all events from Rudderstack to Iterable. Otherwise, you can selectively choose events to send by mapping them individually.

  - Send Device Mode: Choose whether you want to send events in the "mobile" or "server" mode.

5. Once you have provided the necessary details, click on "Save".

Step 3: Map Events

In this step, you will map the events from Rudderstack to Iterable.

1. From the Rudderstack dashboard, go to the "Sources" tab and select the source for which you want to map events.

2. Click on "Add Destination" and select Iterable.

3. Under the Iterable destination settings, click on "Add Event" to map an event.

4. Provide the Event Name, Iterable Event Name, and any additional properties you want to map.

5. Repeat the above steps for all the events you want to send to Iterable.

6. Once you have mapped all the required events, click on "Save".

Step 4: Test the Integration

To ensure that the integration is working correctly, it is recommended to test the events' flow from Rudderstack to Iterable.

1. Trigger the events in your application that you have mapped in Rudderstack.

2. Log in to your Iterable account and navigate to the "Audience" section.

3. Select the User you expect the events to be associated with and check if the events are visible under the "Events" tab for that user.

Congratulations! You have successfully integrated Rudderstack with Iterable. The events triggered in your application will now be sent to Iterable for further analysis and engagement with your users.
